Not sure what it means, but I find it kind of interesting that when I’m not working I tend to use my phone to create images.

I have a friend out west who, in my opinion, is a bit of nature that decided to take on human form for awhile. You have to watch his latest piece. I love this guy. 4 minutes that I guarantee will bring you peace.

I love creating images capturing emotions. One of these days I’m going to have to do a series.

Okay, granted, this was a commercial shoot. But, this particular shot, for me, is beautiful. So, I’m calling it art.

I’m not going to include an image with this post. I posted some of his older work earlier on this blog. For this series, I want you to get the full impact when you see these images. He’s been working on this project  the last few years and I think it’s such a perfect example of art being used not only to express someone’s love for his wife, but as a means to fulfill great purpose.

Please take a look at his project by clicking here. I think you’ll love it as much as everyone who’s seen it.

Amazing job, Bob.

We’re having a bit of a slow afternoon here so I asked my friend Tony if I could steal him for a few quick images. I think the first two shots blended together show his personality pretty well. But I really liked the third one here. He was actually trying not to laugh, but if someone didn’t know that, all sorts of emotions could be read into the image. Thanks, Tony, for letting me play.

Okay, in answer to my confusion concerning what’s art and what’s not, an answer has been provided. I exchanged emails with this photographer, Vincent, and he’s given me the okay to post his work here. For me, his work is true art. I must have spent an hour sipping a glass of wine and browsing through his site. Absolutely beautiful work. And, he’s obviously an incredibly intelligent guy, too. He told me his nine month old son is named Simon! Destined for greatness with a name like that!

Take some time and look through all of the galleries on his site. Very peaceful, very, very nice work. Click here to get to his site.  Sip a glass of wine and enjoy his art.

I wrote a paper back in college titled “Does Art Exist Outside the Mind?”. Having started this “arty” blog I’m realizing I don’t have a clue what makes an image art or not. So, I’ve decided it’s my blog and I can do what I want! I have a few emails out to shooter friends of mine for some of their images to post here. But until they respond, this is an image from a shoot I did yesterday. I like it, so, as far as I’m concerned, it’s art!

Last night I realized it’s going to be a bit tricky for me to figure out what’s my art and what’s not. I decided, for me, the shots I did yesterday were art, in my kind of way. It was a fun shoot, we created some nice images, and the shoot didin’t involve any clients. So, it’s art, right? At least that’s what I’m going to call it.

Grady’s been my friend for 20 years. He’s an incredible musician and composer. If there’s any truth to the saying, Music hath charms to sooth the savage beast, Grady’s music would be the music that could pull it off. If you need an escape from all the hassles of life for a while, head over to www.gradymusic.com and listen to some of his music. And, drat, I was just talking with Christy of willoart, and she let me know this shot is actually hers! We were at this shoot with Grady together, sort of handing the camera back and forth. So, nice shot Christy!
